The Design Problem
There aren’t many platforms that allow users to reliably trade goods. There is a growing concern for excessive consumerism, and how it is not sustainable.
The Objective
Create an application where users feel safe and comfortable initiating trades with other users. Build a reliable verification system to prevent fraud. Promote mindful consumption, and trading rather than buying.
Positioning Statement
For those who are conscious about their overconsumption, ReNue offers a solution for obtaining new things by trading goods online with like-minded individuals. By enabling our users to trade their pre-loved items with others, we promote the reduction of waste and lowering our carbon footprint. With a reliable and secure trading system, our app is ideal for those who value sustainability and want to make a positive impact on the environment.
General Research
Some popular sites/applications that users trade on the internet is through Facebook, Depop, and Reddit. HeatWare is a review platform for buy, selling, and trading for all platform.
Business can get bulk rate shipping (pre-sorted rates) to reduce shipping cost, and make it more appealing to the user.
To profit, selling apps add an additional fixed fee for the service. 2.5% of the agreed cost for service fee to keep the company running. Small price for security.
